1) I teamed up with Sue Stone to help her begin creating an online place-to-go/classroom for her internship program. Having this online classroom would give students the opportunity to further develop 21st century skills, experience the "online classroom", and allow her to make the program even more meaningful than it already is. 2) Our Morning Jam band activities have picked up and with that has come the need for a place online to show off who we are and to communicate with the general public (our growing fan base!).
Description of the challenge and link:
Go to morningjam.org to check out what is there so far. It already needs to be updated and I can see how managing a webpage is a job in itself! Once we start using it (let folks know it is there) I think I will get students envolved in managing this page. I started out by using Wordpress, but after having started it there I am not sure if that is where we will keep it.
Personal reflection on the process of developing the challenge, learning and implementing the new technology:
All a big learning curve for me, as I have never done this kind of thing. But I find value in the products that will evolve by successfully responding to both challenges stated above. So with that in mind I am happy to be doing this kind of thing.
